It states that im in washington but im in columbia, sc does anyone on here know the hiring process in charleston
Here is my experience:
1) ReadySC put out an ad and I applied.
2) Received a call for an interview with ReadySC.
3) Interviewed and had to wait about 2-3 months.
4) I started the two week unpaid phase I process. (It's pretty easy)
5) I finished phase I in October and Phase 2 began in Jan.
6) Phase II lasted 13 weeks at Trident Tech for training. (This was the worst part, about 3 out of 23 of us did not make it. You have to get an 80 percent on all of your tests, and you can only fail four. It's very stressful and you're basically in basic training.)
7) Once you finish your training at Trident Tech you do 90 days of probation on the floor at the plant (Mine actually took 6 months. Out of 20 of us, about 5 didn't make it past this point. (Your manager will do 3 performance reviews and it's basically up to them to keep you or not.)
8) One week before your 90th day your "Contingencies" start. (Background check, drug screen, paperwork, etc.)
9) They are in no hurry at this point as you have probably noticed. When they call to verify your employment, you may need to fax in W2 forms if there are any discrepancies.
10) Once you finish all of your Contingencies, you get your orientation date. You do not do any additional interviews and I never did one for Boeing.
Just know that Boeing's hiring process is not like any other you have probably done. They are not in a hurry, and it was a big pain in the butt to tell you the truth. Overall, It took about 19 months or so. I left a good job to do it and constantly regretted my decision, but now that it's done I am glad.
I do know that as of today, there is a hiring freeze, but in 2017 Boeing will be hiring thousands of new people when they expand to start building the 787-10 in Charleston. So just stick with it, but don't expect anything to happen quickly.
