Ever since I became aware that Boeing was opening a new research facility here in Charleston, SC, I have been applying to job requisitions that Boeing has posted directly though their website. I believe I started applying in April of this year for positions such as MP&P Technical Analyst 1/2 as these are entry level positions that I am qualified for according to the requirements listed in the job requisition(s).
At that time, Boeing was using the "old" online system. The system would state "under consideration" after you applied and usually if you did not pass the computer screening for specific words in your resume, then this status would be updated to "no longer under consideration" within the first 24 hrs. The five positions I applied for seemed to have passed the word screen and were listed as "under consideration" for the next three months. After that, the requisitions were closed and cancelled. Shorty thereafter, approximately two weeks later, the same requisitions were re-posted. I applied for the job listings a second time. Two or three weeks later the requisitions were cancelled again.
The system was then undergoing the change to the new online system (taleo?) and I registered and continued to look for job positions. The same positions I had applied to twice before, appeared again about three weeks ago. I applied for them and the listings closed on October 11th. They still show up in the submissions area; however, this new online hiring system does not show a status as before, such as "under consideration" or "no longer under consideration". It just shows a status next to the requisitions as "active". The positions I have applied for will be at the new Boeing Research & Technology center. As the papers have said, this facility has been leased by Boeing last month and is expected to open before the end of this year after the facilities are retrofitted for their intended uses.
