Hello!
I recently received a contingent offer from Boeing pending a background and drug screen. I have great credit, clean urine, and a clean criminal record, but I was fired from one long-standing job when I was in college for "insubordination." I voluntarily quit but it was labeled as termination with cause in my employee file...I was offered my job back some months later but declined. I worked for the company for 5 years with no other write ups or issues.
I totally intend on disclosing the information, but I was curious as to how to present the information?
Will it absolutely disqualify me? It was a restaurant job during college, after all...
Anyone have experience with something similar? Insights are appreciated!

Boeing Forum - Background Check: [QUOTE who="Waiting in Seattle, Washingt...
I am waiting on a background check to come through before I can start work. On my application I left off 2 jobs from about 5 years ago, both of which I was only at for about a month and left both on good terms, but left off because they were not relevant for the job I was offered. I have never cited them in the past and have gone through background checks with other employers with no red flags. Will this be something that I will need to address with the verification dept.???
I was thinking the same thing my last 2 jobs i had worked for 6 weeks and i put it down, and my last job only 2 days, put that down also, better safe than sorry.

Boeing Forum - Made mistakes on official application.: My wife had an interview with Boeing for...
My wife had an interview with Boeing for an Electrical Assembly job and then had a contingency offer a day after that. They sent her an official application has 11 questionnaire tasks which due in a week but preffered to be done ASAP. Due to a nervousness, excitement and on a rent computer, she didn't list all of her jobs that she did in the past and didn't tell them she's couple months pregnant on the health questionnaire because they don't specifically ask about pregnancy and only general health-related questions in one of which states ' do you have specific medical condition that might cause safety issue related to this position?' I know she should take her time and use her own computer which she didn't have it, she just want to get it ASAP and far away from home due to Friday's traffic. She heard rumors that people were let go because they didn't list the pregnancy (not because of the pregnancy but dishonesty.) So she called, emailed her recruiter and called Boeing total access, who usually is very fast about asking recruiter to response you back quick, to them what happened and asked if they can resend the official application, but no response whatsoever. However, it has only been business day. But we're so nerve wracking. Any idea what we should do? We can't just keep calling. Thanks in advance guys and gals.

I had an interview 8/26 and received a contingency offer a day afterward. However, when they sent the official application, I didn't fully disclose I was pregnant and 1 job in 2008. It might be a problem. I called, left voice mail, email the recruiter and also generate a ticket to Total access, but no response. Any advice to fix it? Please respond, any responses will help. Thanks a bunch.

Boeing Forum - How to tailor resume to boeing job description (keywords): [QUOTE who="hopeful2033 in Everett, Wash...
What do you mean forget the keywords!!?? Keywords were my ticket to land 3 interviews there in a 5mts span and finally get hired there so yes, include keywords ie: bluprints, drawings, internet or online, tools, handheld powertools, teamplayer and so on.
Do you include the keywords in your online profile or your resume attachment? Also, is it better to copy/paste your resume or as an attachment (since they have the applicant tracking system)? I'm not exactly sure what BESS looks at when filling new positions...thanks.

Boeing Forum - Understanding Boeing's Taleo Employment System: [QUOTE who="Ruby Slippers in Las Vegas, ...
I can't speaks specifically for Boeing but Taleo is customizable to the user. That is its big selling feature. What Boeing wants looks different than what US Bank or JP Morgan wants. Its appears that Boeing's Taleo only wants to see the last rendition of your resume.
One way around this is to pass on the resume altogether and just fill in the fields. If you can get past the computer screen, a real human will then ask you for your resume.
What do you mean fill in the fields?

Boeing Forum - Post Interview Anxiety: I had 2 interviews, for different progra...
I had 2 interviews, for different programs, all engineering roles this past week. One hiring manager said they'll let me know in two weeks, the other said at the latest like 5 days, as they have an accelerated hiring event. In my 1st interview, over the phone, I thought it went bad, as I didn't answer all their questions thoroughly, but they sounded very happy with my responses. The 2nd one, also over the phone I answered everything thoroughly, and overall, it was better that the 1st one. I'm pleased with both, I'm just anxious waiting for them to contact me.
How long do they usually take to make offers, or how long is it till you get a rejection letter?

Boeing Forum - Hiring Process: [QUOTE who="LuckyLady in Norman, Oklahom...
Hi guys, I've never posted but I've been lurking on this forum for awhile, lol. Really helped me get through the gauntlet known as the Boeing Hiring Process. So here's what happened for me:
Day 1: Got called for an interview from a position I applied to 2 months previously.
Day 4: Went in for interview, once I got there they told me that they're actually hiring for two positions so I'll be interviewing for both of them. Score!! Both hiring managers for each position were there. Said i'd find out something in two weeks.
Day 10: I got the call!! They made me an offer, I accepted.
Day 11: Received an email from the hiring manager asking for info to get my background started.
Day 12: Received email from background people asking for more info, also received instructions for my drug test.
Day 13: Completed drug test.
Day 15: Received my copy of my completed background. That was a Thursday, and then the following Monday I got the call with my start date! I start in three weeks.
I know my process was shorter then most, but it was stressful. I've been applying to Boeing for six years and this was my first interview. I can't wait to start!
How did you receive your completed background? mail, email, phone call? I'm waiting for my now. so nervous. thanks

So what were the outcomes of those worried? I am so nervous because I have a DUI which was reduced to recklace almost 8 years ago, and DUI reduced to Neg 1 almost 6 years ago and a marijuana possession which was tossed (dismissed) at the same time (almost 6 years ago). I don't mind disclosing it, but will it still cause a problem?
Do you work at Boeing ? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?
Any advice for someone trying to get in?
Boeing actual found me... i lived in Massachusetts and was working but i had my resume on Monster, Careerbuilder.com, and of course Indeed.com.. i worked for an Areospace company previously as an Electronic/Electrical Maintenance... i recieved an email from there recruiter.. i didnt believe it it was real the first time i got it..but i called and it was real!! Everything was done remotely..due to the distance involved. I had an interview over the phone.. conference call with 4 managers...typical out of the manual questions, and an online very unexpected tests then after a long process and about 5 months later... i was offered the job. The interview was easy.. the security background check is very hard...just be very honest, traffic tickets, anything that will look negitive just explain it. They paid to relocate my family and my home belongings all the way from the East coast to Washington state!! It was a long process, but so worth it... great company to work for.. my advice: be honest, and have patience.. they are a giant company and things move slow!! Good Luck and keep up the good fight!
